We are Jacalyn Burke (left) and Kate Fitzgerald (left) and we both LOVE France. Jacalyn has family here, and as a child she spent many summers on vacation in France.
Kate, a native New Yorker, first visited France in 1993 and felt an immediate affinity with the French culture and people. She is a filmmaker and performer who loves to travel and always enjoys a good adventure.
Jacalyn and Kate love the rolling sunflower fields, the powdery blue skies, the rustic villages and the surrounding vineyards and coastline. Together they decided to create an opportunity for others to enjoy this in France too.
They are featured in Complete France Magazine, here: https://www.completefrance.com/living-in-france/real-life/british-american-first-time-buyers-in-france-1-5717411
Agudelle is 5-miles from the mediaeval spa town of Jonzac. (Note its proximity to Paris and Bordeaux). You can fly into Bordeaux, Paris and La Rochelle. Train service also available to Jonzac
The village of Agudelle is located in the Charente-Maritime region, near Bordeaux (1-hour drive south) and Cognac (30-minute drive north). It’s also only a 40-minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean’s gorgeous beaches and quaint marine villages dotting the Gironde Estuary. Although Agudelle has a modest population of 131 people, the larger historic town of Jonzac is a mere 5-mile away.
Jonzac boasts a medieval castle complete with a moat; a small winding river; several high-end restaurants and bistros; blinds; weekly outdoor markets; a Roman geo-spa spa; a cinema; and an art center. The stunning vineyards of Bordeaux stretch to Agudelle. These include such treasures as St. Emilion, Margaux and the Medoc.
